on the move

so now it has finally happened: I moved out of my room that gave me shelter for a unexpectedly long 2 and a half years now. I still cannot believe that I actually survived that long in Münster.
Now, I moved all my stuff to my parents house wheer I will spend the next 2 weeks trying to tidy up the chaos. It´s unbelievable how much clothes I own..and then this fear of throwing away things... I always hated my Mum that she threw away all her huppy clothes and stuff and now I wonder if I´ll curse myself in 20 years from now. But still, the salvation army will get a good deal.
Today was probably the last really summer day in Germany, at least that´s what the weather men say and they are usually right when they forecast rain. I ran around in my bikini the whole day - I´m defenitely gonna go running tommorrow! My belly grew a bit too round these days. The silence here is amazing and so relaxing.
For breakfast I sat in the sun on the terrace. Since it was sundy and there was no newspaper, the only thing to read was the new catalogue of IKEA. Nowadays they always play the immigrant card and put only non-Europeans in the catalogue. Happy multiculturalism, here we go! I wondered if I will ever get settled down to actually invest in my furniture...

anyway

how true

green, so green and blue

another try to figure out Her green at the Dortmund Ems Kanal recently...

layout errors

I am having problems with the colours of my layout. There should be no blue and no fuchsia in it, but all I tried to undo this did not work. Must be some internal error, I hope it solves itself in a while...

searching for neretvagreen

The Neretva is a river running through Croatia and Bosnia Hercegowina. She runs more than 200km through the Hercegowina region and passes under the Stari Most, the ancient bridge built in Ottoman times in Mostar that has gained sad fame by its destruction in the war 1993.
The Neretva is not only the coldest river in the world, but is said to be of a special colour, a green that defies any adequate description.
Whenever I pass by green waters, I am reminded of the Neretva though I have not been there myself. From now on I will post pictures of green waters whenever I pass them by and maybe someday I will see the Neretva and know what colour her green is.

on travelling

* eating a burrito on the bus to baghdad.

"Travel is often depicted as adventures to new and exotic lands, or that time you got alcohol poisoning and an STI in Brazil. But as Henry Miller once said ‘one’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.’ Such is the way with our travel. It’s not always about where you went and how you got there, but the experiences you have along the way that create both infinitesimal and cataclysmic changes within you."

blog & me

A warm "hello" to you, my unknown reader!

this is yet another attempt to blog. Somehow, it is not so easy to reveal so much about me, but I hope I will be fine with it. I have tried to practice blogging for a while now, but have never been fully satisfied with my entries so please have mercy.
I deleted this blog already a couple of times, but see how long this will last...
My main concerns dwell on the question what a blog should be. Most blogs I read rotate aorund their creators but a mere narration of more or - unfortunately more often less - episodes in their lifes. Sometimes I wonder if these people blog about things they do or do things only to blog about them.
My pretension is to generate some sort of sense in my entries, though I am sure I will not be able to write up to that. My hope is that in the course of this blog, some sense will be revealed throught he total of the posts. Maybe you will learn something from it, maybe I will learn something about myself.
