The Neretva is a river running through Croatia and Bosnia Hercegowina. She runs more than 200km through the Hercegowina region and passes under the Stari Most, the ancient bridge built in Ottoman times in Mostar that has gained sad fame by its destruction in the war 1993.
The Neretva is not only the coldest river in the world, but is said to be of a special colour, a green that defies any adequate description.
Whenever I pass by green waters, I am reminded of the Neretva though I have not been there myself. From now on I will post pictures of green waters whenever I pass them by and maybe someday I will see the Neretva and know what colour her green is.
