shop art out art swim - uff

yesterday, I remebered my new year's resolution and went jogging! Since Marinke is comming (yay yay yay!!!!) I can no longer postpone the next surf lesson and have to get fit for that. After the run through the nearby Fitzroy gardens, I went on a rather pleasant job hunt: drinking coffee and handing in my resumes.

After sorrowly reading the Newsaper (a Yugoslavian war criminal is still held in Australian custody and no one can decide wether to hand him over to Croatia or not) I went on a walk into the city where I fled from the masses into the shops but could not really enjoy all the chains with their always and everywhere the same stuff...After a while Isought refuge in the National Gallery of Victoria
I joined a free tour that took us through mainly European exponats from the ancient greeks to Mark Rothko. After 2hrs in this very airconditioned museum I felt so cold that I could not have a closer look at the other exhibitons, but on my way out I passed throught the exhibition of contemporary photography. What did I see? Some photographs that looked familiar:
Johanna, my roomate in Münster had a poster of Hilla and Bernd Becher on her door... what a small world!
Then I went on to pay the Italian Quarter a visit, which is located along Lygon ST. One ristorante follows the other and there were actually some old Italian guys around. It was nice to hear the language again, though I could not get myself to eat in one of the restaurants. My palate is too spoiled, I suppose.
The evening was spent exploring almost every bar, pub and club that was open along Brunnswick ST with the guys from the road trip.
Today I went to the Centre for Conteporary Photography, a pretty cool exhibition only 369 housenumbers down the road. One artist actually dealt with the cult about Knut the icebear in Germany. Unfortunately I could not take any more pictures...

After that I needed some sunshine and went to the Fitzroy Swimming Pool.
Now, back home, so tired!
