the limits of my camera

after a week of hard work, the weekend was finally mine. On friday, I discovered the limits of my poor camera. Bought for the purpose of making pictures but not having to worry too muh about loosing or dropping it, I did not spend much money on it. Which kind of backfires now. Antoinette, a friend of mine and art student just bought a really good and fancy Canon, and let me play with it at the last opening of the gallery she is volunteering at. What can I say, it got me hooked up with photography. I guess that runs in the family, since Mum loves to take pictures, especially since she mastered her new digital camera.
Anyway, here is more proof (the pictures I took in the cemetary already indicated the shortcommings of my poor little Fuji)

this was taken last friday at Oshs place in Brunswick. I payed a visit to my future flatmates and as usual, they had a fire going on in the garden. Later, Zach tried to jump over it with his skateboard, but unfortunately, the video footage is too dark. It was good fun though.
Saturday I sent wandering through the city, eating handrolls and shopping for warmer clothes. as usual on a day off, the weather was so warm that it was actually too warm to buy warm clothes. So I bought a t-shirt with a pretty cool print (photo later) and a dark grey hoody. And, I passed by this shop where they have awesome but pretty expensive jewelry. Thanks to the good people of threethousand, I won a monkey ring! because I would like to wear it on my pointer finger, I need a bigger size and they promised to make one especially for me, but it has not been delivered yet. It looks like this though:
