Queens Birthday out in the country

a workmate`s sister has a property in the countryside, about 45min out of Melbourne. She also has horses and competes, her husband is a metalworker, so Emelie and I were keen to pay them a visit, which we did last sunday.
Unfortunately, the weather was not the very best, although it cleared up in the afternoon. Lisa has not only two horses, but also two small kids, Jordyn, 7 and Christin, 2. Sunday was pony club day for Jordyn, so we loaded Rusty, the quite tall Shetland onto the float and drove to the local pony club. Since it is much cheaper to keep horses in Australia, most people have their own horses and bring them once a month to their training facility. This one had a beautiful cross country parcours and we saw some very good riders and beautiful horses. Emelies and my job was either leading the pony or leading Christin, or, at times, both.

The kids were really cute and we had a lot of fun.

At night we got a delicious dinner and watched Harry Potter and fell asleep in front of the TV.

The family was lucky to have survived the fires of Black Sunday, the fires came through in sight of their house. If you have a closer look at this picture you will see that the hill is not so dark because of the weather, but that it is burnt.
