Dirndl in Brunswick

Having a huge wardrobe makes me aware of how few clothes can be jammed into 25kg (actually, I had 28 plus hand luggage). SO I set out to fill it and went shopping last thursday. Since by now I know all the shops in my neighbourhood - yes, Brunswick ST, Smith ST and all the ones in between! My adventurous mood took me to Brunswick, where I hoped to find some vintage treasures for smaller money than in the well equipped vintage stores in my hood.

Since I started late, I began my shopping trip with a nice chicken avocado focaccia in a cute cafe on Sydney Rd. Not long and I got held up in this little bar, which is so typical for Melbourne and one of the reasons I like it so much here.

Further along the Road I stumbled into this shop:
and was suprised to see that they had a whole rack full of Dirndls! With the original german/austrian labels in them! I tried one on but could not get myself to buy one, although they were really cheap (for Dirndls at least).

Regardingthe contents of my wardrobe, I was unsuccessful: no skirt or shirt or dress could really convince me, and so I bought just this:
